Accept Your Free Gift!

Freebies! Who doesn’t love them? On black Friday millions of people rush to get the best deals. If you are one of the first 100 people in line, you just may get a free gift. I’m often lured to the Estée Lauder counter to purchase my foundation when they offer a free bag of goodies with purchase.

If there is one thing I’ve learned about blogging, it’s that offering a freebie e-book or printable is a great way to get email subscribers and eyes on those posts I’ve worked long and hard on.

These freebies are everywhere during the holidays.

Once I get to the store, I spend way too much time agonizing about finding the perfect gifts for my friends and family.

Is it the right size? Will they wear it? Is it their style? Which color would they like best? Does it show how much I love them? Will they want to take it back?

In the hustle and bustle, it’s easy to forget about the one gift that meets everyone’s deepest needs. The gift I really should be eager to share with others.

The free gift of salvation.

  • You don’t have to stand in line for it.
  • You don’t have to subscribe to anything to get it.
  • You don’t have to purchase anything first.
  • You don’t have to make it on the nice list.
  • You don’t have to be good enough.
  • You don’t have to earn it.
  • You’re never too old to receive it.
  • It’s never too late to accept it.
  • It never goes out of style.
  • It never expires!
  • You don’t need to buy a warranty.
  • You will never want to take it back!
  • All you have to do his have faith and believe in Jesus.

Maybe you want to know God better but you feel like you are not really sure where to start.

Believe that you are a sinner.

Romans 3:23

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Believe that Jesus died for your sins

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he sent His One and Only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 5:21

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

Hebrews 11:16

And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

You are saved by grace: Salvation is a free gift!

Ephesians 2:8

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 5:17

For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 9:15

The gift of salvation is offered to everyone!

You can make the choice whether you want to receive the free gift of salvation. It’s never too late. You don’t need to know enough or wait until you get your life in order first. It’s ok if you don’t know the Bible. It’s ok if you’ve never been to church. Come as you are. Just as you are. He will do the rest. Once you accept Jesus, He gives you the power of the Holy Spirit. His spirit will guide you in your Christian walk.

Acts 2:38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

John 14:26

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Dear Jesus,

It’s time. I’m ready to embrace the gift of your love. I’m ready to believe in a love that no one else can give to me. A love that went to the cross and died for my sins. A love that wants to know me. A love that will never leave me. Never forsake me. A love that will walk with me through all the pain in this life. No matter what. A love that forgives me. A love that teaches me how to live. Jesus, I believe that you died on the cross for my sins. I want to live for you. One step at a time. One day at a time. Show me. Lead me. Guide me. I surrender my pain. I surrender my sorrows. I surrender my bitterness and pride. I surrender all. I love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

If you have decided to follow Jesus today, I would be so happy if you shared in the comment section below. The Christian life is not a perfect life. But having Jesus to walk through life with you is the best gift you will ever receive. God bless you!
